ATLANTA (WSB-TV) -- Atlanta police are reviewing surveillance video that shows a carjacker robbing a man at gunpoint.

"I kept looking at the barrel of the gun and I thought, 'This isn't fair,'" said Brad Edmonds.

He told Channel 2's Carl Willis he was forced back into his home at 9th St. and Argonne Ave. in Midtown.

"I thought, 'Wow, is this it? Is this the time?'" he said.

Surveillance video shows the suspect approach Edmonds on foot and demand the keys to his 2011 Mercedes.

The incident happened at 8 p.m. Monday.

"What's going through my mind is, 'How do I make it through this? How do I even the scale?'" said Edmonds.

He said he had a split second to make a decision.

"I thought about getting my gun, but I might not be here telling the story had I done that," he said.

Instead, Edmonds yelled for his friend, who was sitting in the living room, to call for help.

Then he ducked into his bathroom, locked door and dialed 911.

The video shows the robber standing at the front door pointing his gun inside.

He stays there until he gets the keys.

During that exchange he took a good look outside, and the camera catches a perfect profile shot.

Police have a copy of the video with several clear angles of the carjacker.

He's believed to be 18 to 25 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches and 130-140lbs.

Cameras were rolling when he made a messy exit.

He only opened half of Edmond's iron gate, and slammed into a trash bin before getting the car wedged in the gate.

Back and forth he goes, ripping off the side view mirror until he's finally free.

He was last seen headed east on 9th St.

Edmonds said the attack went too far.

"I'm not going to stand for it, neither is anybody else. We're going to fight them," Edmonds said.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest. Edmonds said he'll add another $1,000 to the total reward.

He said police planned to take the images from his camera to a local high school to try to identify the carjacker.

He also said his car was recovered in DeKalb County. It is being processed by the police.
