Talking with kids about the Connecticut tragedy

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A gunman opened fire in a Connecticut elementary school Friday, killing more than two dozen people, including 20 students. As a parent, how do you explain a tragedy like this to your kids and reassure them it's safe to return to school?

It is very important that we don't inject fear into our young children. We need to shield them from this violence, the only realistic way to do this is to post guards at every entrance, at every school. Gun control will do nothing, there are too many assault weapons already out there. We should all invite a small tax hike to pay for this security, these children are our true national treasure, they are precious and irreplaceable, these are our babies. This action can take effect immediately with no politics involved. Bless all the parents who have lost their babies in this senseless, demonic act. Mike Martin - St. Mary's, GA.
