Suspicious package scare in Jacksonville Beach


The Jacksonville Beach Police Department responds to a suspicious package on Osceola Avenue.

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. - Police shut down two blocks of Osceola Avenue between South Beach Parkway and America Avenue due to a suspicious package.

Jacksonville Beach Police Department Public Information Officer Tommy Crumley said officers responded to an area near Jacksonville Beach Fire Station No. 2 at 2500 South Beach Parkway, a few blocks east of Seabreeze Elementary School.

A suspicious package was left in a mailbox and the bomb squad was called to check it out, Crumley said.

No device of any kind was found, Crumley said.
