PENSACOLA, Fla. (WPMI) 2 people have been charged with homicide after a man's body was found stuffed in the trunk of a car outside a motel near Pensacola.
Escambia County Sheriff's deputies said family members discovered 43-year-old Harvey Ray Smith's body Saturday after spotting his vehicle outside a motel.
Smith had been reported missing.
According to an arrest report, Deborah Burge told investigators she asked Smith to her residence so Zachary Vance Greer could rob him.
Burge told investigators she went inside the house and when she came out, Smith was laying on the ground bleeding. She said Greer killed Smith and placed his body in the trunk.
According to Escambia County jail records, Burge has been charged with homicide and robbery.
A spokesman for the ECSD has told us that 22-year-old Greer was caught and arrested in Santa Rosa County on Monday evening by U.S. Marshals.
He is also being charged with robbery and homicide.
Lauren Dianne Rockwell, who was being questioned by the Escambia County Sheriffs department, has been cleared and is no longer a person of interest in the case.
