48 children taken to hospital after school bus crash in Suwannee County

LIVE OAK, Fla. -- Paramedics took 48 children to the hospital as a precaution following a school bus crash in Suwannee County.

A Chevy SUV slammed into the rear of the bus as students just finished getting on board the bus.

The bus had its warning lights engaged.

The kids attended a number of different schools and ranged in age from elementary to high school.

The driver of the Chevy SUV, 18-year-old Brandon Cunningham, sustained serious injuries. He was air-lifted to UF & Shands Hospital in Gainesville where he is in serious condition.

Cunningham could face charges.

The children are being treated at UF & Shands Hospital in Live Oak.
