LEESBURG, Fla. (WFTV) -- Only Eyewitness News obtained video that shows a profanity-laced screaming match between a Leesburg resident and a city commissioner over a bikini contest.

Commissioner Bill Polk and resident Don Lukich had an argument over page 64 of the Leesburg Bikefest ad book.

Lukich accused Polk of criticizing last month's Bikefest. Polk believes the event is getting too racy, and he objected to a Bikefest ad book that featured the Ms. Leesburg Bikefest contest. Polk was afraid people would confuse it with the Miss Leesburg scholarship pageant.

Polk said it usually takes a lot to get under his skin.

"I would have tried to control my temper a little more than I did," Polk said.

Things boiled over at Monday night's commission meeting, when Polk tangled with Lukich.

"I've been in this area 32 years," Lukich said.

"I've been here 59 years. I can comment on his bull---," Polk said. "I'm going to give you that crap. I'm going to give him crap right back."

"Never mind. Never mind," Lukich said.

Mayor David Knowles asked for order, but it was too late.

"We will not interrupt each other. We are on television," said Knowles.

"I don't care about TV," said Polk.

"I do care," Knowles said.

Lukich called Polk a terrible commissioner.

"This is open to public comments. You don't even have the courtesy to listen. I'll listen to you when I'm finished. You're a piece of garbage as far as this commission is concerned," Lukich said.

By the end of the meeting, Polk apologized.

"I hope they understand I'm not like that and I apologize to all the citizens," Polk said.

The outburst was part of a commission meeting that will air on the local public access television channel.
