ATLANTA (ajc.com) --The body of a “young” man has been found near a Johns Creek middle school, a police spokesman said Wednesday afternoon.
The man was in a creek about a quarter mile north of Taylor Road Middle School, Johns Creek police spokesman Doug Nurse told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
“A couple of people walking their dog about 4:15 p.m. in the woods came across the body in the water (and) notified us,” he said. “We went out there, and we just recovered the body.”
Nurse said the man was found face down in the creek trapped under a log.
“We don’t know how long he’s been there,” he said. “We haven’t had any missing person’s reports.”
Nurse said authorities have tentatively identified the man, who was found with a wallet and backpack. However, authorities are withholding his name because they have not notified next of kin.
Nurse described the man as a “young adult.”
No other details were immediately available.
