Body of missing swimmer found, identified as man, 23, sheriff’s office says
BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (Palm Beach Post) -- The body of a man who went missing after an early morning ocean swim Thursday has been found and identified, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.
Billy Jeudi, 23, was found in the Intracoastal Waterway near the intersection of Dixie Highway and Hypoluxo Road at the Hypoluxo-Lantana border, said Teri Barbera, sheriff’s spokeswoman. Jeudi’s place of residence was not immediately available.
Jeudi was reported missing at about 6 a.m. Thursday after he had been swept out to sea by a strong current south of the Boynton Inlet. A friend with whom he had gone swimming reported him missing. Searchers used both helicopters and boats to look for him.
It was the second time in a month and the third time in a year that a swimmer was reported missing near the inlet, known for powerful currents rushing through its narrow, 130-foot mouth.
