MACON, Ga. -- A Middle Georgia State College student has been charged with murdering a classmate who has been missing for weeks.
Jmaal Malik Keyes of Austell was reported missing on April 29, but family members told Channel 2 Action News they had not spoken to him since April 24.
According to a release on the MGSC website, Robert Kane Rolison, 17, has been charged with murdering Keyes. Rolison attended MGSC as a dual-enrolled high school student.
Rolison is being held at the Bleckley County Law Enforcement Center.
"We are absolutely devastated by this news. There just are no words to describe how deeply hurt we are and how terrible we feel for Jmaal's family. I wish to convey my heartfelt condolences to everyone in his family, and everyone who knew Jmaal. We ask everyone in the Middle Georgia community to keep this family in their thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks to come. We will cooperate in every way to help law enforcement authorities complete their investigation," MGSC Interim President John Blacksaid.
