ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Rose Burris walks Redditt Road every day with her husband near her Lynwood Estates home in the Pershing area where she's lived for 40 years.
She's said she's on guard and on the lookout Tuesday night after Orange County deputies said a man tried to rape a 17-year-old girl in the same area around 9 p.m.
"It's a shame because I see people walking up and down here all the time," Burris said.
Deputies said the attack happened Sunday night.
They said the teenager was ambushed from behind and forced to the ground before she was eventually able to fight off her attacker.
A nearby resident who did not want to be identified heard the screams and ran to help and call 911.
"This was a scream, you knew somebody was in trouble," said the 911 caller.
The spot while along a busy street during the day is pitch-black at night
Eyewitness News showed the composite sketch to residents and the woman who called 911. The caller said she caught a glimpse of the attacker as he took off and said the sketch looks just like him.
"My sister jumped in her car, ran around trying to catch him, lost him," the caller said.
Deputies said the attacker is a clean-shaven Hispanic man between 5 foot 10 inches and 5 foot 11 inches tall and about 190 pounds.
