BOCA RATON, Fla. (WFTV) -- A south Florida bus driver is being credited for safely stopping a runaway school bus with no brakes.

Cellphone video captured the screams of students as the bus zoomed down a busy road in Boca Raton against traffic after its brakes failed.

Student said they couldn't have asked for a better driver.

"She was telling us like, 'Calm down. We're going to be fine. Don't worry.' The fact she did what she did, it's better than I could hope for," said a student.

After zooming a mile down the road, the driver was able to bring the bus to a stop by rubbing its tires against a curb.

There were no injuries reported.

The brake malfunction is under investigation.

This generation would take pictures with their stupid phones rather than brace for impact?! You see them STANDING up by GLASS windows in a runaway bus! Good job by the driver, though.

No name on this bus driver, but GREAT JOB! We can only assume that the bus came to a safe stop, since the video is only showing screaming children in a runaway bus.
