FHP: Two killed when large wire spool strikes motorcycle

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. (WFTV) -- Florida Highway Patrol troopers said two people died in an accident involving a motorcycle Tuesday morning.

The accident happened around 11:30 a.m. in a construction zone along State Road 415 north of State Road 46, according to troopers.

Troopers said the two people killed in the accident were on a motorcycle heading south on S.R 415 when a large spool of wire came off of of a truck that was heading north.

Both of those on the motorcycle were ejected from the bike and died at the scene.

Troopers said the truck didn't stop and continued north, but around 1:45 p.m. returned to the scene.

Troopers have not released the identities of those killed in the accident.
