ORLANDO, Fla. (WFTV) -- A medical marijuana law could be in place before Florida residents have a chance to vote on it in November.

On Monday, Rep. Joe Saunders of Orlando said he'll announce legislation that would legalize pot for medical use.

Saunders said his law would help Floridians with chronic health conditions, help to ensure public safety and save taxpayer dollars.

Saunders is scheduled to talk with Channel 9 on Monday.
