JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Governor Rick Scott will lead a group of almost 200 participants for a trade mission in Bogotá, Colombia, this Sunday. The trip aims to promote Florida businesses and help increase exports in the Sunshine State. The plans include prearranged meetings with Colombian businesses and the president of Colombia Juan Manuel Santos.

Colombia is Florida's second largest trading partner, accounting for more than $9 billion in bilateral trade. This will be the governor's seventh trade mission since he took office in January 2011. Governor Scott has previously led missions to Panama, Canada, Brazil, Israel, Spain and the United Kingdom.

According to the governor, these missions will help attract new industries and businesses and "further cement our standing as one of the nation’s top trading states".
