From what I understand, from other sources, the problem he had was that this bill would be retroactive. And that was apparently his only problem with it. I'm no fan of this Gov., but it seems like the legislature dropped it on this one.

What the h3ll is wrong with him? I am sick of men getting the raw end of the deal, when women are SUPPOSE to be EQUAL under the law. If they can't allow men to be treated fairly, then THE LAW SHOULD WORK BOTH WAYS AND THESE BIOCTHES NEED TO START PAYING MEN ALIMONY TOO. SCOTT YOU ARE SO WRONG ON THIS ONE. ALL CHILDREN NEED BOTH PARENTS, instead of 'assuming' they should stay only their crazy mama's...and by the way, I am a grandmother and am beginning to wonder if Scott is suffering from some sort of 'mental incompacity' to do his job.

What a disgrace! It just goes to show how far removed the Governor is from reality. There were provisions in this bill for those who truly need spousal support, but also fair to those currently paying able bodied, young women or men permanent alimony. His justification is that there are currently avenues for modifying alimony? Sit in a courtroom for a day Governor. It isn't about the circumstances of the divorce, it is about the judge you get! We needed those guidelines! Alimony should be judged by the circumstances of each case, not an archaic law that says the woman is always the victim. Shame on you Governor! Its a shame we voted you into office, but it won't happen again.
