SANFORD, Fla. — A father was arrested after he thought it was fine to show a teacher his gun at his child's day care in Sanford, police said.

Police said Kristopher Paust, 27, was arrested Tuesday afternoon after he pulled his gun out of his pocket to show it to a teacher at Kid City USA.

According to police, Paust said he had a permit to carry a concealed weapon. Officers said they told him bringing a gun to a school is illegal.

Paust is charged with possession of a firearm on school property, police said.
