NORCROSS, Ga. -- A man from Norcross is recovering from a gunshot wound after police said two gunmen forced their way into his home and shot him during a home invasion.

Police said the crime happened in the 1900 block of Summertown Road around 11:45 p.m. Sunday. Two men forced their way into the unidentified homeowner's home and began making demands of him and the others inside the house, police said.

"I don't know how the demands were made, or if the demands were for money or anything like that," said Norcross Police Capt. Brian Harr. "At some point while they were inside, there was a round fired and the homeowner was struck. He's being treated."

Harr described the wound as non-life-threatening. There were other family members in the house at the time, but they were not injured. The wounded man was taken to the hospital for treatment.

"We want to be able to talk with him a little bit more," said Harr. "We have an officer right now at the hospital speaking with him."
