ATLANTA -- WSB-TV Channel 2 Action News has learned the second suspect in the shooting of a Atlanta soldier has turned himself in Wednesday afternoon.

Qutravius Palmer, 22, turned himself into police custody with friends and family by his side.

Palmer and a 14-year-old are accused in the attempted robbery and shooting of 21-year-old X'avier Arnold on Dec. 27 near Kirkwood.

X'avier's girlfriend, who didn't want to use her name, said a strange man and a young boy started following them on the bike trail near Warren Street in the Kirkwood neighborhood.

"They pull out a gun, held it at X and other guy went behind him and started robbing him," his girlfriend said.

At first, everyone was allowing the robbery to happen until it became more violent.

"'I have nothing on me. I have nothing on me.' They were being rude. The guy with the gun pushed me, he shot him in the head," X's girlfriend said.

In that moment, X'avier fell, his other friend was shot in the leg.

Police have not released the name of the juvenile suspect, who has been charged with one count of murder and one count of armed robbery.

X'avier's mother said Arnold had dreams of designing comics. He was on the bike path with friends to take pictures of a graffiti artist he admired, friends said.
