BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. (WFTV) -- Brevard County ocean rescue officials said a shark bit a man on the ankle Tuesday near the Cocoa Beach pier.

His foot was bandaged as he was being helped to a friend's truck.

Officials said he was treated at the scene.

The beach was closed for about 30 minutes and then reopened.
