Teen escapees arrested in Jacksonville

The three teen escapees missing for nearly a week have been captured, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said Saturday.

Police said they captured the inmates Saturday shortly after 10 a.m. in the 7200 block of Old Kings Road.

The teens have since been booked into jail. The teens are being charged with escape and felony battery.

Jacksonville officers were searching for the three teens who battered employees and escaped a juvenile justice facility Sunday night.

JSO said 16-year-old Luther Davis, 16-year-old Derek Browley and 15-year-old Justin Silva overpowered staff members, took their keys and fled the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Facility on Lannie Road around.

A source had told Action News Jax that JSO learned of a vehicle missing Monday morning from a nearby residence on Parete Circle and the theft was likely related to the escaped juvenile inmates.
