DA investigating Justin Timberlake's voting selfie

WHBQ-TV in Memphis has learned that pop sensation Justin Timberlake is now being investigated by the Shelby County District Attorney's Office after taking a picture of himself inside a polling place in Tennessee.

Timberlake flew to Memphis Monday to vote in Germantown at New Bethel Baptist Church.

In a post on his Instagram account, Timberlake posed in front of a voting machine.

TN state law prohibits voters from taking photos or audio recordings inside polling places.

In a statement, the DA's office said, ""The Shelby County DA's Office was made aware of a possible violation of state election law. The matter is under review by the D.A.'s Office."

The offense is a class C misdemeanor and punishable by a 30 day sentence and/or a $50 fine.

“No excuses, my good people! There could be early voting in your town too,” said Timberlake.
