SAN JOSE, Calif. — Brothers charged in murder of parents in their home

The two sons of a San Jose, California, couple found dead in their home Sunday have been charged.

Hasib Bin Golamrabbi, 22, and his brother, Omar Golamrabbi, 17, who was not previously named, were arraigned on two murder charges each in court Friday where more grisly details have emerged about the deaths of Golam and Shamima Rabbi.

Per a decision from the district attorney's office, Omari Golamrabbi will be tried as an adult.

The brothers were arrested by police Thursday.

Police arrived at the scene of the homicides when friends of Golam and Shamima Rabbi entered their home after not hearing from the couple for a few days.

San Jose police Sgt. Patrick Guire said in court documents filed Friday that Omar Golamrabbi told police he closed the curtains in the house after Hasib Bin Golamrabbi killed their father.

Omar Golamrabbi said his brother killed both parents, according to court documents, but Hasib Bin Golamrabbi said he only killed his father and said a stranger shot his mother.

Mercury News reported that Hasib Bin Golamrabbi shot his father over 12 times in the garage of the couple's home, according to homicide detectives. When his mother came in after hearing shots, he killed her in with one shot.

Detectives said cryptic messages were written on the wall, one said  "Sorry, my first kill was clumsy." Another said,  "I can't be like you telling a lie ... I can't love someone without telling them."

Police said the messages were written in two different handwritings that were compared to notes in their bedrooms, implicating both brothers.

Omar Golamrabbi told detectives that after his brother killed their parents, he told him to make sure no blood could been seen by neighbors outside the house. He said the two then left for an anime convention in Oakland, California.

Hasib Bin Golamrabbi told the San Francisco Chronicle that his brother is innocent.

"I want everyone to know what happened, but I can't say anything without a lawyer," he said.

Both brothers pleaded not guilty. Hasib Bin Golamrabbi is in the Santa Clara County Jail and Omar Golamrabbi is in the Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall.
