Del Taco employee fired after video captures him swearing at customers

PEORIA, Ariz. — Customers who returned to a Peoria, Arizona, Del Taco fast-food restaurant Friday recorded a negative encounter with an employee in the drive-through.

The Arizona Republic reported that an employee, who said he was the manager of the restaurant and the son of the owner, was caught on video arguing with customers in the drive-through.

Two customers, a man and a woman, begin to record the interaction after arriving at the drive-through window.

The customers complained about not getting enough sauce packets for their food. The male customer told the manager he and his passenger were returning to get more packets and order more food.

The video, which contains graphic language, has been posted by a user named Kobe D. YouTube.

The employee did not seem to care that he was being recorded.

"I don't give a (expletive), bro," employee said. "Seriously. Go ahead, alright? Where you going to post it -- YouTube? No one's going to (expletive) see it."

It was originally posted by the same user to the video site Vimeo April 27, but has since been deleted.

KNXV reported that Del Taco has responded to some comments on its official Facebook page.

The restaurant said it addressed the incident with the location's franchisee.

Del Taco released a statement confirming the incident and revealing that the manager has been fired:

"We strive to provide a positive guest experience at all of our restaurants and were appalled by this behavior as it is not representative of our high guest service standards. We took this incident very seriously and addressed it with the location's franchisee, who took definitive action by terminating the employee immediately."
