Donald Trump posts photo with Diet Coke after sarcastic comment about Diet Coke drinkers

Donald Trump celebrated acquiring enough delegates to clinch the Republican presidential nomination Thursday by enjoying a meal on one of his private planes.

"Celebrating 1237! #Trump2016," he captioned a photo he posted on Instagram.

In the photo, the presidential candidate reaches into an American favorite: a container of McDonald's french fries.

A burger sits untouched.

Perhaps the most notable aspect of Trump's meal, however, is his drink choice. An open bottle of Diet Coke sits close to the burger.

But as Buzzfeed pointed out, Trump previously made a sarcastic comment about Diet Coke consumers.

"I have never seen a thin person drinking Diet Coke," he tweeted in October 2012.

It's unclear if the business mogul still maintains this opinion about the soda drinkers.
