Hurricane Florence: Verizon Wireless, other companies offer free service to those impacted by storm

For those impacted by Hurricane Florence, Verizon Wireless is trying to keep everyone connected to friends and family.

Officials with the company announced via press release that it is offering free data, calling and texting for those who live South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Virginia, WMBF reported.

The free service will be for both postpaid and prepaid customers from Sept. 14 through Sept. 17.

The free services will only be available to people living in ZIP codes in impacted areas.

The company has also lifted speed caps restrictions because of public safety in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia, WMBF reported.

T-Mobile is also offering free calling, texting and data for impacted customers not already on an unlimited plan. For information for T-Mobile customers, click here.

AT&T is also offering free data, talk and text for areas within the zone of Hurricane Florence. Click here for the details. It also announced that customers of Cricket Wireless who can't get to a store between Sept. 14 and 17 to pay their bill because of the storm, the due dates will be extended through Sept. 17.
