Shannen Doherty thanks husband for standing by her as she battles cancer

As actress Shannen Doherty continues her battle with cancer, she is thanking her husband, Kurt Iswarienko, for his support.

Today.com reported that the former "Beverly Hills, 90210" and "Charmed" star has taken part in the love your spouse Instagram challenge.

Doherty, who publicly her diagnosis in August 2015, was prompted to do so by her friend, actress Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Doherty's first photo for the challenge, posted Monday on her Instagram page, was from her wedding day.

"It was exceptional because we committed for better or worse, in sickness or in health to love and cherish one another,"  Doherty wrote in the caption. "Those vows have never meant more than they do now. Kurt has stood by my side thru sickness and makes me feel more loved now than ever. I would walk any path with this man. Take any bullet for him and slay every dragon to protect him. He is my soul mate. My other half. I am blessed."

Other photos posted for the challenge include snapshots of Doherty and Iswarienko in Colorado, Greece and Spain.

"I can honestly say that we always have a great time together. @kurtiswarienko thank you for being my best friend," she captioned a photo.
