Tributes abound during Rock Hall broadcast

NEW YORK — The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony remembered some big names the music industry recently lost.

The show began with a tribute to David Bowie by The Roots, David Byrne and Kimbra joining together to perform Bowie's hit "Fame," Rolling Stone reported.

Byrne inducted Bowie into the rock hall in 1996, Rolling Stone reported.

Glenn Frey was also remembered after his death in January.

Sheryl Crow and Grace Potter were on stage performing the Eagles' "New Kid in Town."

And finally, Prince, whose death occurred after the April 8 taping of the show, was remembered by HBO after the concert's broadcast with footage from his induction into the Hall of Fame in 2004, including his performance of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" from that night, Akron Beacon Journal reported.
