Recap: Eastern Wash vs. Idaho State
Cheney, WA (Sports Network) - Cliff Colimon set a career-high with 28 points as the Eastern Washington Eagles beat the Idaho State Bengals 77-64 at Reese Court in the Big Sky Conference regular season finale for both teams.
Laron Griffin tallied 18 points and 12 rebounds for the Eagles (14-16, 8-8 Big Sky), who clinched the No. 4 seed in the Big Sky Conference Tournament and will host the fifth-seeded Bengals again this Saturday in the quarterfinal round.
Chase Grabau scored 15 points while Kenny McGowen netted 13 for Idaho State (9-20, 7-9), which backs into the tourney on a four-game losing streak.
Eastern Washington was able to take a 33-29 lead into halftime despite getting outshot from the field by Idaho State 50 percent to 36.7 percent in the opening frame. The Eagles were aided by going 7-of-11 from the foul line in the half, while the Bengals went just 2-of-2.
The Eagle offense soared after the break by connecting on 54.2 percent from the field, as they kept a double digit lead for most of the second half.
Eastern Washington committed just 11 turnovers, while Idaho State coughed the ball up 17 times.
