Recap: Princeton vs. Dartmouth
Princeton, NJ (Sports Network) - Will Barrett scored a game-high 24 points and pulled down eight rebounds as the Princeton Tigers knocked off the Dartmouth Big Green, 68-63, in Ivy League action at Jadwin Gym.
Also scoring in double figures for the Tigers (16-9, 9-2 Ivy) were T.J. Bray and Ian Hummer with 21 and 13 points, respectively, as they won their fourth straight outing.
Dartmouth (7-19, 3-9) was paced by Tyler Melville who scored a career-high 23 points, while Gabas Maldunas responded with 17 points and a game-high 12 rebounds, as they bowed for the sixth time in seven games.
Princeton shot a disappointing 7-of-21 from the floor in the first half, allowing the visitors to post a narrow 21-20 lead at the break, even though the Big Green missed on all six of their 3-point tries through the first 20 minutes of play.
The Tigers bounced back in the second half as they connected on not only 54.2 percent from the field but also 8-of-13 beyond the arc, en route to the five- point home win.
With Harvard's loss at Penn on Saturday night the Tigers, who outscored Dartmouth by an 18-11 margin at the free-throw line, have now taken over first place in the league standings.Game Notes
