Recap: NC Central vs. NC A&T
Norfolk, VA (Sports Network) - Adrian Powell and Lamont Middleton scored 13 points each as the seventh-seeded NC A&T Aggies pulled off a 55-42 upset victory of the second-seeded North Carolina Central Eagles in the quarterfinal round of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament at Norfolk State Arena.
Bruce Beckford added nine points in 19 minutes of action for the Aggies (17-16), who will await the winner of Thursday's matchup between Hampton and Delaware State in the semifinals.
Stanton Kidd led NCCU (22-9) with 13 points and eight rebounds while Jeremy Ingram chipped in with 11 points.
Although the Eagles held a dominant, 44-34 edge in the rebounding battle, they were unable to overcome their 22.6 percent shooting from the field, 12-of-26 showing at the charity stripe or their 17 turnovers. NC A&T hit on 36.6 percent of their field goal tries en route to the upset.
