JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The future of the Jacksonville Jaguars franchise may look as bright as their new video boards as Blake Bortles gave everyone a taste of what's to come Friday night.
Bortles played in the second and third quarter with the second team offense and looked very sharp in his NFL debut.
The third-overall pick in the NFL Draft in May was 7 for 11 for 117 yards, and was the victim of three drops.
The Jaguars rolled Bortles out several times and the QB looked comfortable on the run. He also took a couple of hits while delivering strikes to his receivers.
Chad Henne is the starting quarterback to begin the season, but the curiosity after Friday night will certainly begin to raise questions about playing Bortles right away.
The Jags next game is Thursday night in Chicago.
