Bortles to start as Jaguars host Falcons in preseason finale

Updated:

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —

The Jacksonville Jaguars will host the Atlanta Falcons in the final preseason game of the new season.

The Jaguars and Falcons both sport 1-2 records.  Jacksonville defeated Atlanta 20-16 in the preseason finale last year at the Georgia Dome.

Blake Bortles will start the game at quarterback and may be playing for the last time in a game situation for awhile.  It all depends on how Chad Henne performs in the regular season.

Henne is the starting quarterback when the season opens in Philadelphia on September 7.

Running back Toby Gerhart and tight end Marcedes Lewis will not start tonight.

One bright spot on the Jaguars roster is undrafted rookie wide receiver Allen Hurns.

He leads the NFL in receiving during the preseason with 230 yards on 13 catches.

It's the third highest total in Jaguars preseason history behind Troy Williamson (267 yards in 2009) and Jimmy Smith (257 yards in 1998).

Kickoff is at 6 p.m.

All regular season Jaguars games will be on CBS47 and FOX30, the home of the Jaguars fan.
