Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - The Arizona Diamondbacks have acquired pitcher Matt Reynolds from the Colorado Rockies in exchange for infielder Ryan Wheeler, the club announced Tuesday.

Reynolds, 28, appeared in 71 games for the Rockies last season, compiling a 3-1 record with a 4.40 earned run average.

The left-handed reliever has posted a 5-3 record and a 3.93 ERA in 165 games over the last three seasons with the Rockies.

"We are excited to add a versatile and experienced left-handed reliever to the bullpen," Arizona general manager Kevin Towers said. "He's very familiar with our division and has been a workhorse for the last couple seasons, so we expect he can continue to do that for us."

Wheeler, 24, made his major league debut last season and appeared in 50 games with Arizona, batting .239 with one home run and 10 runs batted in.
