Flushing, NY (Sports Network) - The New York Mets placed reliever Josh Edgin on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 30, with a hairline fracture of a left rib.

Edgin last pitched on July 29 against the Marlins, throwing a scoreless seventh in the Mets' 6-5 win.

The 26-year old southpaw made the opening day roster but was optioned to Double-A Binghamton on April 27. He was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on June 11 and since has a 0.93 ERA in 23 appearances. For the season, he is 1-1 with a 3.77 ERA and a save in 34 games.

To take Edgin's place on the roster, the Mets selected the contract of pitcher Pedro Feliciano from Las Vegas. Feliciano played for the Mets from 2002-10. Over 459 appearances, he is 22-19 with a 3.31 ERA and 341 strikeouts. He led the majors in appearances from 2008-10, including 92 in 2010.

The 36-year-old lefty signed a two-year deal with the Yankees in January 2011, but experienced shoulder problems throughout his tenure and hasn't played at the major league level since 2010.
