Viera, FL (Sports Network) - Clete Thomas went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and three RBI as the Detroit Tigers defeated the Washington Nationals, 11-7, in Grapefruit League action.
Austin Jackson knocked in a pair and Doug Fister allowed three runs -- one earned -- on five hits while striking out seven in four innings for the Tigers, who improved to 12-1 with three ties in spring training.
Tyler Moore had a solo shot and two RBI, while Jayson Werth had a two-run double for Washington. Edwin Jackson took the loss, allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks in a four-inning start.
