Recap: San Antonio vs. Phoenix

San Antonio, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Danny Green knocked down seven 3- pointers and netted 33 points and the San Antonio Spurs locked up the NBA's best record following a 112-104 triumph over the Phoenix Suns on Friday night.

Green was 12-of-17 from the field and 7-of-10 from beyond the arc for the Spurs, who are 3-2 on the heels of their 19-game winning streak.

"Not every shot felt good, but for some reason they were dropping," Green said.

Tony Parker, who sat out Thursday's victory against the Dallas Mavericks with a bruised shin, put in 18 points for San Antonio, which has won 15 straight at home.

Eric Bledsoe tallied 30 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists but turned the ball over seven times, while Gerald Green scored 27 points for the Suns, who had their three-game winning streak snapped. They are tied with Memphis for the final playoff spot in the West, but the Grizzlies hold the tiebreaker by virtue of winning the head-to-head series.

"At the end of the day, we beat ourselves. Too many turnovers on my part," Bledsoe said.

After Channing Frye's 3-pointer staked Phoenix to a 98-97 edge with 4:25 left, the Spurs responded with triples by Kawhi Leonard, Marco Belinelli and Danny Green as part of a 9-2 flurry to give them a 106-100 advantage with 1:59 to go.

San Antonio sunk 5-of-6 free throws in the final 20 seconds to seal the outcome.

Earlier, the Suns raced out to a 19-9 lead before Markieff Morris threw down an alley-oop to finish off a 16-5 swing to further extend the advantage to 35-14.

Phoenix led 37-24 after a quarter of play and 62-49 at the break.

Consecutive baskets by Parker concluded a 10-3 flurry to get the Spurs within 67-61 before the middle stages of the third. Triples by Danny Green and Belinelli, sandwiched around a Gerald Green layup, during the final minutes of the third gave San Antonio an 86-81 lead heading into the fourth.

The Spurs outscored the Suns 37-19 in the third.

Game Notes

San Antonio scored 26 points off 20 Phoenix turnovers ... The Spurs shot 44.8 percent (43-of-96) from the floor and 43.3 percent (13-of-30) from beyond the arc.
