Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - The Minnesota Timberwolves announced that forward Kevin Love underwent successful surgery Tuesday morning to repair the third and fourth metacarpal in his right hand.

The All-Star is expected to be sidelined for 8-to-10 weeks.

It's the second time this season the Timberwolves have lost Love to a broken right hand.

The original injury, which occurred during preseason workouts in October, caused Love to miss the first nine games of the regular season. He refractured the hand during the third quarter of the Timberwolves win over Denver on Jan. 3 game.

Love leads the club with averages of 18.3 points and 14.0 rebounds in 18 games.
