Davie, FL (Sports Network) - The Miami Dolphins made it official on Friday and rewarded long snapper John Denney with a contract extension through the 2016 season.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Miami Herald on Thursday reported the new pact will pay the 34-year-old veteran more than $1.15 million per season.

Denney is heading into his ninth NFL season, and does so as the longest- tenured member of the team, having broken into the league in 2005.

The Colorado native and Brigham Young product, who was a Pro Bowl selection following the 2010 season, has participated in 128 games for Miami.
