Cortland, NY (Sports Network) - The New York Jets have signed wide receiver Braylon Edwards for a third time and also finalized a contract with first- round pick Sheldon Richardson.

Edwards spent the 2009 and '10 seasons with the Jets and played the final three games last year with the club. He was a free agent this offseason and found no takers before landing again with the Jets.

In his first go-round with New York, Edwards caught 88 passes for 1,445 yards and 11 touchdowns. He added 10 receptions for 125 yards in three games last year.

The 30-year-old Michigan product spent his first five NFL seasons with Cleveland and has also played for San Francisco and Seattle. He has 359 career receptions for 5,522 yards and 40 touchdowns.

Richardson was the Jets' second pick of the first round and the 13th overall selection in April. The Missouri product had four sacks and led all SEC defensive tackles with 79 tackles in 2012.

The Jets also signed defensive lineman Leger Douzable, who played in 43 games with seven starts for St. Louis in 2009 and Jacksonville from 2010-11.
