Gabbert should play at Indianapolis
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Blaine Gabbert should be ready to play at Indianapolis on Sunday, but the Jacksonville Jaguars should have a better idea after this afternoon's practice.
Gabbert strained his glute muscle in Sunday's loss to Houston and Mike Mularkey said his quarterback would be limited in practice today.
Gabbert had full pads on during the media time of practice and was involved in team drills.
The Jaguars got some good news on the injury front for the first time in awhile. Derek Cox was practicing in full pads and scheduled to do more work than he'd been able to do in recent weeks. Cox has missed the first two games of the season with an injured hamstring.
Defensive end Austen Lane was in full pads at Wednesday's practice too and scheduled to do more work as continues to try and rehab an injured foot.
Linebacker Daryl Smith has already been ruled out of Sunday's game. Smith's groin injury has caused him to miss the first two games.
Eben Britton and Cameron Bradfield are still day to day for the Jaguars. The offensive linemen missed Sunday's game and Britton is ahead of Bradfield in terms of coming back according to Mularkey.
