Green Bay, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - Jermichael Finley's season is officially over, as the Green Bay Packers placed the tight end on injured reserve Tuesday.
Finley has been sidelined since Oct. 20, when he was taken off the field on a stretcher after sustaining a hard shot to the head from Cleveland Brown safety Tashuan Gipson.
Finley made a 10-yard grab over the middle late in the third quarter and lowered his head as he was taken to the ground. Gipson came in to finish the tackle and caught Finley flush in the helmet with his helmet. Finley remained motionless on the turf while the training staff attended to him, but eventually regained movement in his extremities.
The 26-year-old finishes the 2013 campaign with 25 receptions for 300 yards and three touchdowns in six contests.
Green Bay also placed linebacker Sam Barrington on IR and activated tackle Derek Sherrod from the physically unable to perform list.
Sherrod had been placed on the PUP list in late August, as he continued a slow recovery from a broken leg suffered in December of 2011.
