Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei (Sports Network) - K.T. Kim birdied the first playoff hole on Sunday to give Asia its second Royal Trophy victory.

Kim's birdie capped an impressive comeback for the Asian team, which trailed the Europeans 3 1/2 - 1/2 after the foursome matches on day one.

On the second day, Asia pulled within a point of the Europeans by winning the fourball session 3-1. Then, a 4 1/2 - 3 1/2 Asian edge in the singles session on Sunday pushed the event into a playoff.

The Europeans appeared to have the advantage on the first extra hole at the Empire Hotel & Country Club when playing partners Francesco Molinari and Ryder Cup hero Nicolas Colsaerts left themselves a short birdie putt.

Kim and Y.E. Yang were away at 15 feet, but the former calmly drained the birdie attempt to put the pressure on the Europeans.

Colsaerts then narrowly missed the equalizer to the right of the cup, giving Asia the victory.
