Ruan de Smidt captures Suncoast Classic title

Durban, South Africa (Sports Network) - Rookie Ruan de Smidt shot a 1-under- par 71 on Saturday to wrap up a wire-to-wire win at the Suncoast Classic.

De Smidt finished with an 8-under 208, four strokes clear of Vaughn Groenewald, who carded a 68 on Saturday at Durban Country Club.

Jacques Blaauw recorded a final-round 71 to finish alone in third place at 3- under, while Jake Roos (68), Titch Moore (70) and Doug McGuigan (71) tied for fourth at 2-under.
