Daytona Blog: Media Day
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The stars of NASCAR are out in Daytona for the annual media day. The 55th running of the Daytona 500 is less than two weeks away with plenty of intriguing story lines. One of the biggest may be the new Gen 6 car which is an unknown commodity to all the drivers and will force race teams to make quick adjustments in testing.
With today being Valentine's Day plenty of questions have seemed a little off the wall in relation to auto racing. Danica Patrick drew perhaps the biggest crowd this morning with reporters wanting to know what she and new boyfriend Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will be up to.
Back on the track, the question is how will the 2013 race top the bizarre events of Speed Week last year. Juan Pablo Montoya's collision with a jet dryer caused a big explosion and a fiery delay that won't be forgotten soon enough.
