TALLAHASSEE, Fla.--Florida State is expecting a tough game from a desperate Virginia Tech when the No. 8 Seminoles visit Lane Stadium on Thursday night.

The Hokies (4-5, 2-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) are in the midst of their worst season in two decades and their backs are against the wall. Virginia Tech needs to win two of its last three games to qualify for a bowl game.

Coach Jimbo Fisher says though the Hokies are struggling he believes Virginia Tech' best is better than most and his team needs to be ready.

The Seminoles lead the nation in total defense, allowing just 227 yards per game. They also are third in scoring, averaging nearly 45 points, and will play for the ACC championship if they beat Virginia Tech and then Maryland.
