Flying High: Gabbert to start against Jets Saturday
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Jaguars will start Blaine Gabbert Saturday night against the New York Jets.
Gabbert and Chad Henne are in a competition for the starting job, but this is the second straight game Gabbert will start in the preseason.
Gus Bradley said after practice on Thursday that the competition was not over, but the staff wanted a better chance to evaluate the third year QB in a game situation.
Gabbert missed a lot of last season due to injury.
Bradley also said after practice that Maurice Jones-Drew will play on Saturday and Justin Blackmon will make his 2013 debut as well.
Cecil Shorts, III headlines a list of seven players that have been ruled out against the Jets.
