JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Two of Jacksonville's favorite quarterbacks are now teammates in New York.
Former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback, David Garrard, signed a one year contract with the Jets on Monday afternoon. The nine year veteran hasn't played a regular season game in a couple of years after battling injuries.
The Jaguars released Garrard five days before the regulars season opener in 2011. Garrard then signed with the Miami Dolphins and had the lead to be a starter in South Florida until knee surgery derailed that opportunity.
Garrard now finds himself on the same team as another Jacksonville favorite - Tim Tebow. They may not be calling each other teammates for long. Tebow's future in New York is uncertain because his role was limited in 2012.
Garrard has battled knee and back injuries the last couple of seasons, but says he is healthy and ready to play in 2013.
