JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--The Jacksonville Jaguars are now 0-2 on the season after a 27-7 loss to the Houston Texans. The offense had problems moving the football. The 117 yards is the lowest total in team history. A dissappointed Mike Mularkey says, "Not the way we wanted it to go. Not a good showing from start to finish. Never gave ourselves a chance."
Mularkey says he needs to see that his team can take a punch. Blaine Gabbert left the game with a leg injury. It's a strain so they pulled him to avoid risk of making it worse.
The tackling was terrible. The offense was 0 for 9 on third down conversions. The winless Jaguars head to Indianapolis next Sunday looking to turn things around.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are on the board in the home opener at Everbank Field.
Houston leads 17-7.
Blaine Gabbert hit Laurent Robinson for a gain of 32 yards and then hit Maurice Jones-Drew on the next play for a five yard touchdown. It's Mojo's 75th touchdown.
The Josh Scobee extra point moves Scobee past Mike Hollis as the teams all-time leading scorer with 265 points.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--It's raining in the home opener at Everbank Field. The Jaguars trail the Houston Texans 17-0 in a game where nothing is going right for the home team. Blaine Gabbert and offense had minus ten yards passing until the 2:20 mark of the second quarter.
The defense is hanging tough but the Jaguars look overmatched in the first half. Arian Foster has a one yard touchdown run for Houston.
