GAINESVILLE, Fla. --Gators quarterback Jeff Driskel had emergency appendectomy surgery today according to a release by the university.
“Jeff had acute appendicitis
and fortunately the medical staff caught it very quickly,” UF coach Will Muschamp said in a news release. “His surgery went well and how long he is out will be determined by how his body responds, which could be two weeks.”
The Gators open preseason practice on Friday after meeting with the media Thursday.
Last season Driskel led Florida to an 11 win season and threw 12 touchdowns on the season.
