JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Seven athletes signed their national letters of intent at Bartram Trail High School Wednesday. The highlight was Tyler Reagan, who will play offensive line at North Carolina State. Gabe Davis will also play football at the next level--he is going to Weber State.

Nick Uruburu was a stand out football player for the Bears, but he was better on the track.  He'll run for Florida.

Four Bartram Trail lacrosse players will make their ways to college campuses next season. Preston Pena is headed to St. Leo, Chase Hancock will play at Furman, Brennan Aspen is going to Wingate, and Tyler Sellers will suit up for Catawba College.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Trinity Christian wrapped up my four school swing on the Westside with a quartet of Crusaders signing college scholarships. Nick Washington led the way signing with the Florida Gators as both a football and baseball player. His quarterback Oshay Carter is headed north to play at Georgia State. The Panthers are in the process of transitioning to Division 1-A and will play in the Sun Belt. FAU is already in the Sun Belt and that's where Carter's teammate Hughstin Higdon will play his college football. Wrapping up the festivities at Trinity was Tyler Key going to Hillsborough CC on a baseball scholarship.

Eagle's View Academy also had four student athletes on their way to the next level. On the gridiron Willie Smith will attend Seton Hall, Leonard Hunt is heading to Liberty, and Cortney Jones will join on the fledgling program at Florida Tech. Khalil Searcy meanwhile is staying in town at Jacksonville University to play baseball for the Dolphins.

Earlier this afternoon featured stops at Potter's House Christian and Forrest High School. At PHCS Justin Hurd was honored for picking up a scholarship to Louisburg College. The Rebels meanwhile celebrated four young men earning their place in the college ranks. Vernell Trent picked Iowa State over Florida International for football with Antonio Brown going to North Carolina Central and the pair of Jordan Mixon and Donte Cobb headed to St. Francis in Illinois. All in all a busy day for the Action Sports team!

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Creekside had one lone athlete signing their national letter of intent but, it was a significant one. Tommy Openshaw will kick for Vanderbilt.

Openshaw is one of the area's best kickers and a 4.0 grade point average doesn't hurt when trying to go to the best academic school in the SEC.

This is the second straight year that Creekside will send an athlete to play football in the South Eastern Conference.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Former Gator quarterback and Nease's head coach Shane Matthews' first signing day was a good one. The Panthers send five to play football at the next level.

The class was highlighted by three year starting offensive lineman Lucas Crowley who will be headed to play for Larry Fedora at North Carolina.

Three Panthers will stay close to home and become Dolphins this fall. Adrian Gilbert, Zac Furlough, and Ulysses Bryant will play their college football at JU.

The class is rounded out by Eric Bach who is going to Stetson, and Tristan Cotton is headed to St. Augustine College in North Carolina.
Ole Miss
Ole Miss
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - We made it through the morning session of signings and let the afternoon begin. Three signings happening this hour and we are at all three.

The big story of signing day 2013 so far is Ole Miss. Wow, what a class they are putting together. It's a class that includes Lake City Columbia's morning decision to be a Rebel.

Many of the projections have Florida as the number one recruiting class in 2013, while Florida State could dip out of the top ten in some rankings.

I have stopped back at the office to prepare the show tonight before heading down to St. Augustine. Meanwhile our blog continues.

Pit Stop

National High School Signing Day
National High School Signing Day
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Signing day is in full swing. We've been all over the place this morning with crews in eight different locations. I've made a stop at Dunkin Donuts which is the most important event of my day.

My stop was at Fleming Island where four kids signed. They were happy to have us out there. I used to live in Eagle Harbor and, even five years later, there is still construction on US 17.

Next up for me, a trip to Wolfson and we'll have something live on CBS47 at noon. A lot of work to be done still on this day. All for the web and ramps up to our big show at 10:30 p.M. on FOX30.

Terry Parker's Andre Moore signed with Edward Waters College today.

JACKSONVILLE Fla. -- Eight athletes have signed national letters of intent at the Providence School.

Two football players will play at the next level. Jaleel Green is headed to Wofford College and Draeland James will attend Lafayette College.

Three players will suit up next season to play college baseball. Matt Fitzsimmons will play at Division 1 South Carolina Upstate. Joining Fitzsimmons is Mike Howe. He will go to Lake Sumter. Luke Parker is on his way to Polke College.

Danielle Dunn heads to FAU to run track. Alyssa Pitre will play catcher for the softball team at Sacred Heart. Tori Matella will play volleyball at West Florida.

Atlantic Coast High School

JACKSONVILLE Fla.- The second ever national signing day at Atlantic Coast featured the first Division 1 recruits ever for the school.

Running back Richard Montgomery will play football at Idaho. Brittany Garesio who will run cross country at FAU.

Also signing letters of intent are Travis Bennett, who will play football at Webber International; Jamie Davis will run track at Bethune-Cookman; and Paige Curtis will play softball at Daytona State.

KINGSLAND, GA.--Signing day is always a big deal at Camden County. The Wildcats are sending 11 student-athletes to college. The day has an SEC feel to it.

Jarrad Davis will play linebacker for Florida. J.P. Vonashek will play offensive line for South Carolina.

Both players are looking forward to playing Georgia. That is where quarterback Bryce Ramsey is already enrolled.

Camden County is keeping an eye on the SEC East.

Top Lineman Signs with Ole Miss

Columbia High School
Columbia High School
LAKE CITY, Fla. -- Columbia High School star offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil finally made his college decision and he's headed to Ole Miss.

The choice may come as a shock to some as it looked like Georgia and Alabama led most of the way. But in the end it was the relationships with the coaching staff that has Tunsil headed to Oxford.

Rebels head coach Hugh Freeze is celebrating in the grove after also landing the nations top recruit Robert Nkemdiche out of Grayson (GA).

Another happy head coach would be Columbia's Brian Allen as the Tigers sent ten players to college including Shaquille Johnson to Western Kentucky.

Stay with Action Sports all day for continuing signing day coverage.

ORANGE PARK, Fla. - Signing day kicked off in Clay County at Fleming Island High School.

Four football players moving on to play college ball. Headlining the class is Donel Elam, whose cousin is Florida's Matt Elam.

Donel wasn't swayed by family because he chose to attend Louisville.

Jalen Kindle will play ball at Delaware and Ervin Alston is headed to UAB.

The Blitz Begins

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- National Signing Day 2013 is here. We will be all over the area starting early Wednesday morning and our coverage will end with a half hour special on Wednesday night at 10:30 p.m. on FOX30.

Our plan is to get to almost 30 different high schools to see hundreds of kids sign on the dotted line and pledge their commitment to college.

The big story of the day will be Laremy Tunsil as he makes his college decision. Tunsil is a big offensive lineman from Lake City Columbia and is considered on the of the best recruits in the country.

We'll also be keeping an eye all day on the colleges. Florida is expected to compete with Alabama for the number one recruiting class, while FSU could dip out of the top ten for the first time since anyone can remember.

Dave's Dash will return for a night, Steve will hit the road to Camden County, Stuart will be out west most of the day and I'll begin in Fleming Island at 9 a.m.

Time to log some miles, bring some snacks and witness everyone's favorite day full of of John Hancock's.
